Firefighters have contained a residential fire that sparked just after noon Thursday in a home on the 2000 block of Pacheco Pass in Gilroy, CalFire Battalion Chief Jim Crawford said.
A total of nine engines with various fire departments were on scene working to contain the fire just before 2 p.m., he added. No injuries were reported and the home was empty during the fire, Crawford said.
The call came in at 12:29 p.m. and Crawford said he expected firefighters to remain on scene for up to three hours conducting their investigation.
On Thursday, Crawford advised travelers going westbound or eastbound traffic along Pacheco Pass to take alternate routes until the investigation is complete.
Members of the Gilroy and Morgan Hill Fire Departments, along with South Santa Clara County Fire and CalFire, responded to assist with the fire.
