The DUB Baseball Academy’s 19U and 15U Dynasty teams won the Lake Tahoe World Series in their respective age groups July 26.
The 19U Dynasty team went a perfect 7-0 in the tournament. The team is comprised of high school and collegiate players from around Gilroy and the Bay Area including Brennan Wilson, Matt Peterson and Conner Starke of Gavilan College. Wilson is also a Christopher High alum and is joined by Cougar player Sean Straub. Starke is also a San Benito alumnus.
Also on the team is Cayman Willis, Asa Jacob, Brian Martin, Nathan Alejo and Matthew Roth, all of whom hail from Sobrato High School as well as Jose Cruz from Live Oak.
Evan Dean of Monta Vista Christian, Joshua Hernandez from Pitman, Adam Jennings, Pioneer, Jacob Fajnor, of Palma and Sean Harris and Jaxon Sawyer—both from Valley Christian are all part of the U19 Dynasty team, too.Â
The 15U team, below, went 2-2 in pool play and beat the Fairfield Expos Baseball Academy in a best-of-three series to win.
The team is made up of a plethora of local athletes, including Gilroyans Jaycob Tellez, Dylan Hsu, Alex Benavides of Gilroy High and Esau Fernandez, Justin McKenna, Billy Mazotti, all from Christopher High.Â
Live Oak’s PJ Rochon and Damon Rodriguez along with Sobrato’s Marcus Hernandez are also on the squad. Dynasty 15U players Marcus Kelly and Sean Nelson both hail from San Benito.Â
The team also includes Jackson Meuter of Palma, Cody Paresa from Monta Vista Christian, Richie Contreras of Pioneer, and Robbie Fong from University College Prep.Â
