Labor Day bingo marathon
The Live Oak Emerald Regime will host a bingo marathon with door prizes and raffle giveaways Sept. 7. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. First session is at 10 a.m., second session at 2 p.m. Catered lunch by Fuddruckers will be served at 1 p.m. All proceeds go to music programs in the Morgan Hill Unified School District. Celtic garden concert
Irish American Traditional Singer Colleen Raney, fiddler Bob Soper and bouzaki player Ryan Davidson will perform at an outdoor garden concert hosted by the Celtic Society of the Monterey Bay at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in Gilroy. A potluck dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation is $15 for nonmembers and $13 for Celtic Society members. All proceeds go to the performers. Honor veterans, buy pavers
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6309 is now taking orders for commemorative bricks for expansion of the Veterans Memorial at Christmas Hill Park. The brick pavers can include up to two lines of 20 spaces each for a donation of $75. Pavers typically include the veteran’s name, branch of service and dates served. Applications are available through the VFW or at at the Veterans Memorial Hall at 74 West Sixth St.

Growing herbs in fall, winter
Learn about herbs that can be planted and harvested in fall and winter at a presentation given by Master Gardener Joan Cloutier from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Volunteers needed for Reading Hour
Join a group of community volunteers and read one-on-one with children at the El Toro Youth Center, the local site of the Boys & Girls Club, during an afternoon reading hour facilitated by Gamma Alpha Chapter on some Tuesdays.
