The Gilroy Police Department made arrests for a variety of crimes between July 14 and 21, including assault with a deadly weapon, rape, driving under the influence and child endangerment. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter during that period and compiled from public records.
Assault
• Gilroy man, 21, July 15 at 7:27 p.m. on the 7100 block of Rosanna Street for felony assault with a deadly weapon or by other means of force likely to cause grievous bodily injury.
• Gilroy man, 35, July 17 at 6:10 p.m. on the 7400 block of Chestnut Street for felony assault with a deadly weapon or by other means of force likely to cause grievous bodily injury, fighting in public and battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
Battery
• Gilroy woman, 61, July 18 at 5:45 p.m. on the 8600 block of Lilly Avenue.
Burglary
• Watsonville man, 26, July 14 at 10:04 p.m. at Saint Louise Regional Hospital for felony first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of burglary tools and an outstanding warrant for violation of a protective order.
• Watsonville woman, 24, July 14 at 10:11 p.m. at Saint Louise Regional Hospital for felony first-degree burglary, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of a controlled substance and burglary tools and felony re-arrest for probation violations.
Child endangerment
• Gilroy woman, 23, July 18 at 10:58 p.m. on the 7300 block of Chestnut Street for child endangerment involving unjust pain and suffering.
Domestic violence
• Gilroy man, 35, July 18 at 11:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Fairview Drive for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
• Gilroy man, 22, July 20 at 3 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant, petty theft, vandalism with damages $400 or less and felony processing as a violator for probation revocation.
Drinking in public
• Gilroy man, 76, July 14 at 4:10 p.m. on the 100 block of Old Gilroy Street for one misdemeanor charge.
Driving violations
• Gilroy man, 39, July 16 at 8:20 p.m. on the 100 block of Hornlein Court for unlawful registration and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
• Gilroy man, 22, July 18 at 10:36 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
• Gilroy man, 27, July 19 at 8:02 p.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Gurries Drive for driving with privileges suspended or revoked and expired registration.
Drug possession
• Gilroy man, 56, July 15 at 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue for one felony and one misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 46, July 16 at 2:31 p.m. on the 600 block of Johnson Way for one misdemeanor charge.
• Gilroy man, 47, July 17 at 7:13 p.m. on the 7700 block of Santa Barbara Drive for two misdemeanor charges and resisting, delaying or obstructing police.
DUI
• Watsonville man, 34, July 18 at 3:07 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Second streets for driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, driving while unlicensed and expired registration.
• Gilroy man, 23, July 19 at 12:56 a.m. on the 800 block of Monticelli Drive for DUI.
• Gilroy man, 20, July 19 at 1:49 a.m. near the intersection of Alexander and Sixth streets for DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and expired registration.
• Gilroy man, 52, July 19 at 4:24 a.m. near the intersection of Old Gilroy and Railroad streets for DUI and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher.
• Gilroy man, 26, July 21 at 2:16 a.m. near the intersection of Chestnut and Ninth streets for DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving on a suspended license.
Evading police
• Gilroy man, 22, July 20 at 2:19 a.m. on the 1100 block of Montebello Drive for evading a police officer while in a vehicle and driving under the influence.
Firearms
• San Martin man, 41, July 19 at 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Seventh and Hanna streets for felony possession of a firearm as a felon and two misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance.
Multiple charges
• Gilroy man, 26, July 14 at 6:41 p.m. near the intersection of Forest and Martin streets for felony theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle, felony driving in willful disregard for safety, making or passing fake checks, possession of an open container of alcohol while driving, resisting, delaying or obstructing police, violation of a court order in a domestic violence case, petty theft, battery against a spouse or cohabitant, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and license plate violation.
• Gilroy woman, 26, July 16 at 12:01 a.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for false impersonation, selling or aiding in the sale of stolen property, appropriation of lost property, petty theft and two outstanding warrants for use of a cellphone while driving and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
• Gilroy man, 24, July 18 at 3:21 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Fifth streets for petty theft of personal property, illegal lodging without consent of property owner and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Outstanding warrants
• Gilroy man, 18, July 14 at 11:58 p.m. on the 9600 block of Kiowa Court for three outstanding warrants: vandalism, trespassing and minor in possession of alcohol.
• Hollister man, 51, July 16 at 12 p.m. on the 7200 block of Church Street for two outstanding warrants: shoplifting and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Hollister man, 26, July 21 at 2:20 a.m. near the intersection of Chestnut and Ninth streets for an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Rape
• Gilroy man, 62 July 15 at 10:45 a.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for felony rape by force, violence or duress, felony assault with intent to commit rape and sexual battery.

• Gilroy man, 35, July 16 at 11:41 a.m. near the intersection of W. 10th and Eigleberry streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
• Gilroy woman, 31, July 16 at 3:12 p.m. on the 9300 block of Monterey Street for use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy woman, 42, July 19 at 12:37 a.m. near the intersection of Sixth and Dowdy streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 35, July 21 at 11:16 a.m. near the intersection of Eigleberry and 10th streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and drinking an intoxicating liquor in a public place.
