attack. She was 82 years old.
Eleanor “Betty” Holloway Payne Salazar Silacci passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at Santa Teresa Hospital in San Jose, after suffering a heart attack. She was 82 years old.

Betty was the daughter of the late Reginald and Maude Holloway; loving mother of Ellen Payne Dilbeck of Visalia, Mervin R. Payne Jr. of San Jose, Peter J.W. Payne and his wife Karen of Dade City, Florida, Charles E. Payne and his wife Jennie of Lancaster, John E. Salazar of Gilroy and the late Helen Filice; sister of Viola Pedersen and her husband Daniel of Tulare; Dale Holloway and his wife Doris of Joshua Tree; Reginald Holloway Jr. and his wife Jane of San Jose and the late June Cadile; grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 10 and great-great-grandmother of 1. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson.

A native of Gilroy, Betty was born in her home on Rosanna Street and lived here all but a few years. She worked as a floor lady at Gilroy Foods for more than 20 years. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, at 7pm at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Donations should be made to the American Heart Association.
