Manuel Richard Reyes died Dec. 18, 2004, at his home in Santa Rosa, surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Reyes enjoyed wood carving and mentoring many friends. He was involved for 36 years in the 12-step community, practicing spirituality and most of all spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janine; 7-year-old daughter, Grace; son, Robert Harris and his wife Juliette; stepson, Jason Thomas; grandchildren, Jackie Cooper, Robyn and Carly Harris; brothers, Robert Reyes of Washington and George Reyes of Kentucky; aunts, Frances P. Lugo of Gilroy, Ida Velasquez of Bend, Ore., Margaret Guittierez of Hollister; and uncles, Manuel Padilla of Aptos, Lee Padilla of Madera, and Joe Serrato of Madera.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Reyes Sr. and Connie Reyes; sister Esther Morris; and brother, Richard Clifford Reyes.
Visitation will begin at 1pm Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004. A vigil will be held at 7pm at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at the funeral home, then proceed to St. Mary’s Church for Mass at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
