Paige Inman, daughter of Doug and Jamie Inman of Hollister, and Roger Yamat, son of Nemesio and Cecilia Yamat of San Jose, were married on July 11.
The bride wore a strapless white organza gown with lace and sequins on the bodice. Her attendants were Chase Inman, Sol Valdez, Linda delos Santos Emily Tripiano and Patrice Dugan, and Roger’s attendants were David Alvarez, Rodrigo, Rolando, and Roberto Yamat, and Spencer Inman. The ring bearer was Emily Heacock and the flower girls were Marin and Noelle Heacock.
The bride is a ballroom dance instructor and the groom is a certified public accountant auditor for Santa Clara County. The wedding reception for the 100 guests in attendance was held at the De Anza Hotel in San Jose, and the couple honeymooned for two weeks in Cancún, Mexico.
Schreck-Terry
Jennifer Schreck of Hollister and Richard Terry of Hollister were married Oct. 2 at Lake Tahoe. Jennifer is the daughter of the late Duane D. Schreck Sr. and of Ruby and Louis Hicks. Richard is the sone of Diane and Philip Terry Sr.
The maid of honor was Jennifer Clampitt and bridesmaids were Sheena Vasquez and Elisa Turpin. The best man was Dio Arevelo and ushers were Gary Matthews and Jake Hubbell. Leyna Reynolds and Destiny Dial were flower girls. Other attendants were the bride’s grandmother Frieda Reynolds from Salmon, Idaho and close family and friends. There were 75 guests.
Jennifer is a full-time student at Allied School and is a certified medical administrative assistant. Richard is a diesel mechanic at Hollister Truck Parts. The reception was held at Harry’s Wedding Chapel in Lake Tahoe and the couple honeymooned for one week in Lake Tahoe.
Nordstrom-Baxter
Kirstin Nordstrom and Jeff Baxter were married Aug. 7 at the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Kirstin is the daughter of Darick and Ruth Nordstrom of Hollister, and Jeff is the son of Brent and Karen Baxter of Hillsboro, Oregon. The newlyweds are making their home in Provo, Utah. Kirstin is teaching school in Lehi, Utah and Jeff is attending Brigham Young University.
Maderis-Medina
Mark Medina and Deena Maderis were united in marriage on Aug. 7 at Riverhouse in Ben Lomond, Calif. The afternoon ceremony was officiated by The Honorable Judge Thomas Breen. The bride is the daughter of John and Trish Maderis and Jack and Laurie Modine. She is the grand-daughter of Vaughn and Orlaine Franklin. The groom is the son of Marie Medina and the late Michael Medina. Christine Navarro was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica DeLaCruz, Tami Clayton, Tammy Jackson and Melanie Anastasi. Haley Taddei and Julia Guerrero were the flower girls. Joey Marquez was best man. Groomsmen were Holden Renz, Jim Smiley, Dave DeMaggio, Sam Bailey and Greg Meamber. Matthew Medina was ring bearer for his uncle. The couple spent their honeymoon in Italy. They now reside in Virginia.
Griffin-Recalde
Andy Recalde and Karin Griffin were married on Nov. 20. Andy is the son of Barbara Recalde of Hollister and Arnold Recalde of Madera. Karin is the daughter of Ellen Donnelly of Petaluma. Andy works for Quinn Catepillar of Salinas and Karin works for the county of San Benito. They will continue to reside in Hollister.

May and Tom celebrated their 60th anniversary Nov. 10. were married Nov. 10, 1944. Prior to their marriage in Hollister, May Weatherly was a resident of Hollister and Tom Barry was a resident of New York City. They met while Tom was stationed at the Naval base at the Hollister Airport.

David Gaitan
Army PFC David J. Gaitan, a graduate of San Benito High School in 2002, recently graduated from Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He has been assigned to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas where he will attend a 16-week course to become an Army Health Care Specialist. He is the son of Mike and Eva. His brothers are Mikey, Steve and Gabe.
Nicole Harlan
Nicole Harlan, daughter of Grant Harlan and Emily Hanson and grand daughter of of Cleva Harlan of Hollister and Manuel Castro of Gilroy, just completed her four-year tour of duty. Her duties on the U.S.S Higgens was Operations Specialist Service War Far. She was deployed to Bagdad, Iraq Nov. 2, 2003. Harlan’s job was classified, but she is able to mention the U.S.S Heggens was launching missles to Baghdad to support the troupes. Since her honorable discharge in October, she is attending Mesa City College in San Diego and persuing her Criminal Justice degree.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Benjamin R. Miner, a 1998 graduate of Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, and his fellow shipmates recently returned to their homeport of San Diego after a deployment in support of the war on terrorism, while serving aboard the dock landing ship USS Comstock.
Terri Marini
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Terri Marini, daughter of Nancy E. and Edward Marini of Gilroy, and her fellow shipmates recently returned to their homeport of San Diego after a deployment in support of the war on terrorism, while serving aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Belleau Wood. The Belleau Wood crew helped save 12 crewmen of an Indonesian vessel sinking in the Persian Gulf.
Brian d. Contival, Pablo J. Gonzalez, Kirk W. Perry
Air Force Airman 1st Class Brian D. Contival, Air Force Airman Pablo J. Gonzalez and Air Force Airman Kirk W. Perry Jr. have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airmen studied the Air Force mission, organization, military customs and courtesies, performed drill and ceremony marches, received physical training, rifle marksmanship training, and completed field training exercises. Contival is the son of Allen Contival of Hollister, and he graduated in 1991 from San Benito High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Gonzalez is the son of Sabas and Lucy Gonzalez of Hollister and a 2003 graduate of San Benito High School. Perry is the son of Brenda Perry of Hollister and is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School.
William R. Farmer
Navy Seaman William R. Farmer, son of Kathleen A. and Edwin Farmer of Gilroy, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training and was meritoriously promoted to his current rank at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Farmer completed training including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
Corey A. Bell, Christopher L. Mason
Army Pvt. Corey A. Bell and Army Pvt. Christopher L. Mason have graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. During the eight weeks of training, the soldiers received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Bell is the son of Allan Bell of Hollister and is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School. Mason is the son of Pamela Wilton of Hollister and Robert Mason of Portage, Mich., and is a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School.
