Jesus Rubio Espinoza died Monday Nov. 15, 2004, at his Gilroy home. He was 81.
A native of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, he came to the U.S. in 1945, and was a former migrant worker.
He was a knowledgeable person with an immense love for books and passionate about furthering his scientific knowledge. He loved astronomy and enjoyed being witnessing nature’s wonders.
He is survived by his children, Rosario and her husband Jose Castaneda of Gilroy, Evangelina and her husband Juan Triana of Gilroy, Alicia and her husband Epifanio of Phoenix, Ariz., Elvia and her husband Juan Pablo of Gilroy, Miguel Rubio and his wife Rosaura of Gilroy, Delfina Rubio of Gilroy, Maria de Jesus Rubio of Gilroy, and Lilia and her husband Jesus Ibarra of Gilroy; brothers, Santiago Rubio, Faustino Rubio; sister, Inez Rubio; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Amelia Hernandez-Rubio, who died April 12, 2004.
Evening services were held Friday.
Funeral services will start at 10am, Saturday at the funeral home then proceed to Gavilan Hills Memorial Park for burial.
