Dear Editor,

On Thursday, Oct. 28 I accompanied my son’s kindergarten class on a field trip to the Usegi Pumpkin Patch in Morgan Hill. This is the pumpkin patch my family visits every year and we always enjoy it!

We were there from 9am to 10:45am. During this time there were many other schools there on field trips as well. My husband was helping out, too, and he placed our video camera down for a few minutes while he loaded the pumpkins into the bus. During the few minutes it took him to do this someone stole our video camera.

It is hard to believe that this could happen when the majority of the people there were teachers and parents – but it did. We had hoped that someone would turn in the camera thinking that maybe someone lost it. That did not happen either.

The workers at Usegi Farms were very helpful and sympathetic. The camera is gone and I can always get a new one. What I can not replace is the video tape with my son’s first day of kindergarten and my oldest daughter’s first day of third grade.

On the tape I also had my 4-year-old’s first day of dance class and my children’s soccer games. There are so many memories on that tape that are precious to our family. I hope that the person who possibly took my camera will read this letter and PLEASE return my tape to your office anonymously. Keep the camera that’s not what is important to me!
