Do you allow yourself the luxury of thinking,
”
What is possible for me?
”
What is it that you desire? Ralph Waldo Emerson said,
”
Desire is possibility seeking expression.
”
Do you allow yourself the luxury of thinking, “What is possible for me?” What is it that you desire? Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Desire is possibility seeking expression.”
Emerson also said, “Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” Scientists speak of this as “synchronicity,” of circumstances inexplicably working together to help you reach your goal. The tuning fork exemplifies this amazing law of nature. When a tuning fork is struck, it emanates vibrations, humming noise on a particular pitch. When another tuning fork calibrated to the same note is introduced nearby, it begins to vibrate in synchrony.
Our minds are the ultimate tuning forks. We consciously and subconsciously send out vibrations that seek harmony with others in tune with our thoughts. In this way, our thoughts shape our reality.
Results-oriented thinking, visualization of what you desire to be or do or have, is the genesis of success. Visualization gives energy to your desires, marshaling unseen forces to work for you.
The late Florence Scovel Shinn said in her book, “The Game of Life and How to Play It,” that there are three departments of the mind: the subconscious, conscious and superconscious. The subconscious is described as power without direction. It’s your brain waiting to be obedient to you. On the other hand, the conscious mind is one that experiences and reflects limitations – the inner voice that says, “You can’t do that, dim-wit.” It’s the thinking that holds us back because we dwell on why we’ll get sick, the baseball game will be rained out, the boss will hate the project we’ve worked on for months. It’s Murphy’s Law ruthlessly at work inside our heads.
I once entered a public relations contest in which I was head-to-head with Fortune 500 corporations, dozens of entries in all, being judged by a top-notch Washington, D.C. public relations firm. Walter Cronkite was scheduled to present the award at a national convention. In this high-stakes scenario, I was an outnumbered and outspent gnat, the proverbial David vs. Goliath, going against the best brains money could buy. I could have thought, “I’ll try, but I’ll never win.” I decided to get busy creating a solid campaign and then proceeded to visualize how I was going to win that contest, down to the last detail. I practiced receiving the congratulatory phone call, and one day it happened. I heard a stranger say the very words I had been repeating.
Everything you achieve starts with your imagination. Your brain thinks it and unless you summarily veto it, your body acts as its servant. Mind control, in essence, sets the stage for prosperity and success, or for the reverse – poverty, misery and failure. Those who buy into this concept discover it has life changing potential!
I challenge you to seek what is possible. What would you do, be, or have if all limitations were removed?
