San Jose Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, after a lengthy illness.
Gilroy native Edward W. Peterman, 59, died peacefully at home in San Jose Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, after a lengthy illness.

He was a retired deputy sheriff of Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years and founding member of the South Bay Historical Railroad Society and curator of its railroadiana museum. He was also a member of various other railroad organizations.

He was the loving husband of Paula Peterman, of San Jose; dear father of Stephanie Peterman, of Yuba City; and Kelly Peterman, of San Jose; brother of Randall Peterman, of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; and son of Phyllis Eustice Feemster, of Saratoga, and the late Edward Peterman. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. Details of his wake will be announced at the viewing. Family would appreciate donations to the South Bay Historical Railroad Society, 1005 Railroad Ave., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
