She is the beloved wife of the late Kazuo Ouchida; dear mother of the late Etsuo Ouchida, dearest sister to the late Charles Sawabe, Matsuye Sawabe, Nobuko Sawabe, and Yaeko Takimoto; loving mother of Tomiye Imokawa (George), Kazue Hashiguchi (Ted), and Yoshiye Kawamoto; mother-in-law of Sally Ouchida; devoted grandmother of Laurie Ouchida, Scott Hashiguchi (Dana), Wendy Kawamoto (Frank Oei), Dean Imokawa, Michael Kawamoto, Michele Imokawa and Tracey Hashiguchi; the adoring great-grandmother of Ashley and Hailey Hashiguchi; the dear sister of Paul Sawabe and Mitsuko Nakai (Mich); sister-in-law of Ruth Sawabe; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 27, at 7:30pm at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 North 5th St. San Jose.
Shirley “Midge” Alessi passed away on Aug. 21 at the age of 85.
Private services will be held with arrangements by Southern Oregon Cremation Services.
