GILROY – Robert Van Tassel hit a grand slam Sunday as the streaking Dan Keith Septics defeated Most Wanted 25-11 Sunday in Men’s DDD League play at Gavilan Sports Park.
Danny Rubacalva, who has homered in every Dan Keith Septics game in the second half, hit two along with two singles and a sacrifice fly. Jose Pacheco collected four hits and Danny DeLong and Pete Collom each scored four runs for 5-0 Dan Keith Septics. The win locked up a share of first place in the second half.
Gilbert Tovar and Shane Tamez each went 3-for-3 for Most Wanted.
In a battle of 3-1 teams, the Hitmen outlasted California Overhead Doors 10-6. Hector Viramontes smacked three hits and Rod Melching singled, doubled and scored three Hitmen runs. Ken Johnson and Ed DeLeon each managed three hits for 3-2 Overhead Doors.
Rafael Ortiz blasted two home runs in a 4-for-4 performance to lead Victory Outreach past Bay Sheets 18-8. Anthony Hernandez hit a lead-off homer and Art Tomasetti went 4-for-4 for the Outreach. Serf Mancera and Lewis Lopez each singled and doubled for Bay Sheets.
Chicks N’ Sticks moved to 4-0 atop the Co-Rec League standings Sunday at Las Animas Park with a 14-0 blanking of Covenant Builders.
Jessica Loza, D. J. Simpson and Hillary Ekberg highlighted the top of the Sticks batting order with three hits apiece. Tim Adams clubbed a single and double for Covenant.
Dicar Insurance is second at 4-1 after a 13-5 victory over 3-1 Mitsubishi Motors.
Liz Adams anchored the Dicar offense with a triple, double, two singles and a sacrifice fly. Kyle Costa and Alma Quistian each singled and doubled for the Insurance.
Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas turned back Team Hair FX 10-2. Shaun Cronk went 3-for-4 and Rudi Groppe netted a single and double for the winners. Tony Martinez and Alicia Tabula each collected two singles for Team Hair FX.
