Galvan’s seventh-inning RBI single scores winning run in 13-12
nod over Vets
GILROY – The Playaz slipped into first place in the second half of Men’s C League play Friday with a 13-12 squeaker over VFW Vets at Las Animas Park.

Bobby Galvan’s RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh plated Will Hill with the winning run as the Playaz moved to 3-1. Bobby Galvan homered in a 4-for-5 night, matching Paul Garcia’s boxscore line. George Salgado hit a solo home run. Chris Adame and Vince Pellin hit consecutive two-run singles in the Vets second inning.

Obata Farms slipped to second at 2-1 with an 8-7 setback to D.A. Wolfe Construction. Jess Lopez Sr. went 3-for-3 for the Builders. Robert Silvia homered for Obata Farms.

Ed Gamboa went 5-for-5 and Steve Gonzalez added four hits as Dee’z Nutz surprised Punishment Inc. 19-9. Mike Leslie and Chase Locsin socked homers for Punishment.

Dequin’s Auto Body (3-0) maintained its lead in the Men’s D League Friday at Gavilan Sports Park with a 13-10 nod over Ellite Barbers and Hair Stylists.

Bob Mang lined a two-run single in a six-run first for Dequin’s. Randy Evanger went 4-for-4 with a home run for the winners. Aaron Muro (4-for-4) and Brian Pelaiz hit home runs for Ellite Barbers.

Manuel Gonzales hit a homer, double and single to help Family Affair past In The Zone 11-6. Junior Campos bombed a three-run homer in a 3-for-3 Zone performance.

Fritter-Schulz Physical Therapy-Humboldt Brewing outlasted Team HJ-FX 11-7. Dave Keim Jr. hit a triple and two singles for the winners. Brett Faust went 4-for-4, Mike Kachel 3-for-3 for Team HJ-FX.

The Hustlers rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to upset unbeaten Cosa Nostra 7-3 in Men’s DD play Friday at Christmas Hill Park. Mike Nichols capped a three-hit effort with an RBI-single in the Hustler sixth. Matias Franco singled and tripled for Cosa Nostra (3-1).

Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring is also 3-1 after a 7-5 loss to Los Chilotes. Clint Minor hit a run-scoring single and Matt Hernandez lofted a sacrifice fly as Los Chilotes scored three runs in the seventh. Joel Gaeta went 3-for-3 with a homer for the winners. Scott Rader singled and tripled for the losers.

Josh Gonzalez went 5-for-5, Lam Nguyen went 4-for-5 and Isaac Gonzalez homered to spice a 25-2 Bomb Squad win over the Slammers. Mike Perry went 2-for-3 for the Slammers.
