encourages audiences to get into the act by dressing up as their
favorite hero, heroine or villain. Anyone who shows up for either
of the Saturday performances in costume will gain free admission to
the performance.

“The Drunkard” tells the story of Edward, the virtuous, penniless heir of his kindhearted father. One day the villain Squire Cribbs lures Edward into drinking at an inn and the effects are instantaneous; he becomes a drunkard, consigned to live in poverty. His foster brother William discovers Cribbs’ plans and good triumphs over evil.
Performances are set for Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15 at 8 p.m., and are held at the Gavilan College Theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for students and seniors and $6 for kids 12 and under.

Motorcyclists remember officers
GILROY – The fourth annual Santa Clara Valley Peace Officer’s Memorial Run will be held Saturday, May 15, beginning in front of the Sheriff’s Department, 55 W. Younger Ave. in San Jose.
This motorcycle run commemorates the 40 police officers that have died in the line of duty in Santa Clara County. The run is open to the public and about 3,500 motorcycles participated last year.
Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m.
At 11 a.m., the motorcycles will depart from San Jose for Bolado Park in Hollister.
A donation of $25 for a single rider and $35 for a rider and passenger will apply. Motorcycles from the San Jose Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Santa Clara Police Department will escort riders during the route down southbound U.S. Highways 87, 85, 101, 156 and 25 into Hollister.
At Bolado Park there will be a barbecue, various vendors and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle will be raffled off to one lucky winner.
