Rubalcalva hits pair of home runs in 14-2 victory
GILROY – Dan Keith Septics powered past Most Wanted 14-2 Sunday at Gavilan Sports Park in preparation for this weekend’s Men’s DDD League showdown with rival Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring.
Danny Rubalcalva hit a pair of two-run home runs as Dan Keith Septics improved to 3-0. Tom Luther homered and Whitney McDougal and Danny DeLong offered three hits apiece for the winners. Jaime Rosso homered for Most Wanted.
Dan Keith Septics and Aladdin-Rhino will square off at 5:30 p.m. Sunday for sole possession of the league lead. Aladdin-Rhino joined Septics at 3-0 with an 18-14 squeaker over the Hitmen.
Aladdin-Rhino struck for 10 runs in the second inning to erase a 5-0 Hitmen advantage. Frank Crue lined two singles and Mike Hernandez and Pete Osuna each connected for a two-run single. Scott Rader paced Aladdin Bail Bonds-Rhino Wiring with a home run and five RBI. Sebastian Cabrera went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for the winners. Russ Chagnon collected a triple and two singles for the Hitmen.
Bay Sheets snapped a two-game losing streak with a 23-14 nod over California Overhead.
Joe Benevides homered in a 5-for-6, six-RBI night for Bay Sheets. Robert Garinger followed with four singles and a triple. Rafael Gomez went 4-for-5 with a home run and Nick Benevento struck for three singles for California Overhead.
Covenant Builders moved to 3-0 atop the eight-team Co-Rec League Sunday with a 13-5 decision over Rush Order.
Cory Casillas ignited the Covenant offense with a two-run home run in the third inning. She added two triples and finished with four RBI. Bridget Adams and Brian Moreno each added three hits for Covenant. Brian Jenkins hit a two-run home run for Rush Order.
Chicks N’ Sticks are also 3-0 after a 9-5 victory over Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas. Benny Sanchez plated four Sticks runs with a double and triple. Ed Lujan added two singles and a sacrifice fly. Mark Logan hit a three-run triple for the Kahunas in a four-run first frame.
Vicki Velasquez went 3-for-4 and scored three runs to lead Dicar Insurance past Team Hair FX 5-3. Liz Adams aided the Dicar effort with a double and two singles. Vanessa Pena homered for Team Hair FX.
Frank Crue went 3-for-3 and Yolanda Lomas scored three runs as Mitsubishi Motors topped South Valley Newspapers 15-6. John Macadaeg and Dave Steffenson each crunched three Newspaper hits.
