DEAR EDITOR:

In response to your editorial “Fix the intercoms at GHS first” I would like to let you know that the intercom system upgrade is (and has been) a priority for the construction this summer.

As the school district’s construction manager for the project, I would like to let the public know that not only will the intercoms be upgraded but we will be installing security cameras and a security system that will be able to inter-connect with each other.

With this system, school administrators and police will be able to communicate more efficiently.

The exterior cameras will also be able to record any suspicious activities and can be adjusted to monitor specific areas of the campus.

Staff and student safety is our priority when upgrading our campuses throughout the district.

The installation of such systems is made possible due to the generosity of our community in passing the school bond.
