Edward D. Seghieri, a resident of Morgan Hill for 52 years, died April 14, 2004, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 82.
Born on March 2, 1922, in San Francisco, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982. Mr. Seghieri spent his time helping those less able from delivering “meals on wheels,” to driving the elderly without means to doctor appointments. As a member of countless clubs and organizations, he constantly donated his time and resources to various functions. When, during this same time his beloved wife, Madelyn, was struck with a cruel disease, he personally and lovingly cared for her until he physically was no longer able. After her death in 1995, not a day went by that she was not in his thoughts. Partners in love and life for 49 years, they are together again, to spend eternity in God’s embrace.
He is survived by a sister, a son, two grandchildren and many others.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Morgan Hill to be followed by a short graveside service at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to celebrate his life at the Woodland Estates clubhouse following the services. Arrangements handled by Johnson Funeral Home, Morgan Hill.
