The Santa Clara County Superior Court is now accepting applications from interested volunteers who wish to serve on the 2014/2015 Civil Grand Jury.
The Civil Grand Jury, an arm of the Superior Court, serves as the County’s investigating body and has the authority to examine all aspects of County and City governments, according to a press release on the City of Morgan Hill’s website. The Civil Grand Jury also has the authority to inspect the adult and juvenile detention facilities.
Eligible to serve on the Civil Grand Jury are residents who have lived in Santa Clara County for one year or longer, US citizens and at least 18 years of age. The Superior Court is looking for volunteers who are willing to commit to the one-year term for the Civil Grand Jury, for 20 to 25 hours per week or as determined, according to the City’s website.

The 2014/2015 Civil Grand Jury will be selected and sworn on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Old Courthouse located at 161 North First Street, San Jose, California.
