Police blotter

The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes this week, including murder, false imprisonment, possession of a controlled substance for sale, burglary and causing or permitting a child to suffer. Arrests were recorded in this week’s GPD blotter from Feb. 6 through 13.
Murder
-Jerome Moore, 33, on Feb. 12 at 12:01 a.m. at the San Jose Regional Hospital for three felony charges: murder, possession of a firearm as a felony and possession of a controlled substance. Moore was charged with the murder of a 68-year-old Gilroy man, Martin Gonzales, in the Tuesday night shooting near Las Animas Park. You can read more about the murder case here.
Child abuse
-Appolonia Salinas, 24, on Feb. 9 at 4:08 a.m. on the 7700 block of Ghirlanda Court for two felony charges: Willfully causing or permitting a child to suffer and making threat to commit a crime resulting in bodily injury.
Domestic violence
-John Graffigna, 43, on Feb. 7 at 11:28 p.m. on the 9000 block of Kern Avenue for felony possession of a firearm as a felon, battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend, false imprisonment and obstructing the use of a wireless communications device with the intent to prevent someone from calling 9-1-1.
-Candalario Beltran, 31, on Feb. 11 at 5:13 p.m. near the intersection of Carmel and Princevalle streets for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Possession of drugs for sale
-Sheri Platt, 44, on Feb. 7 at 7:05 a.m. on the 7500 block of Alexander Street for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of marijuana or hashish for sale and possession of paraphernalia.
Burglary
-Jose Gonzalez, 21, on Feb. 6 at 7:40 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony burglary in the first degree.
-Eileen Espinoza, 21, on Feb. 9 at 6:36 p.m. near the intersection of First and Monterey streets for felony burglary in the first degree and felony conspiracy to commit a crime.
-Yulianna Elizondo, 22, on Feb. 9 at 6:36 p.m near the intersection of First and Monterey streets for felony burglary in the first degree, felony conspiracy to commit a crime and carrying a loaded firearm.
-Jesus Ortiz, 28, on Feb. 9 at 6:36 p.m. near the intersection of First and Monterey streets for felony burglary in the first degree, felony conspiracy to commit a crime, felony ownership, purchase, receipt or possession of a firearm within 10 years of a firearm related offense and possession of burglary tools.
Possession of burglary tools
-Larry Palomino, 27, on Feb. 9 at 6:36 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey and First streets for possession of burglary tools.
-Brandon Allen, 20, on Feb. 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the GPD station, located at 7301 Hanna Street, for possession of burglary tools.
Multiple charges
-Joseph Perez, 28, on Feb. 7 at 11:25 p.m. on the 500 block of Stoney Court for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of a switchblade in a vehicle, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
-Roger Flores, 36, on Feb. 7 at 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of Martin and Railroad streets for two charges of resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, providing a false name to a peace, possession of a controlled substance and use/being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Driving under the influence
-Michelle Khaliki, 33, on Feb. 9 at 2:16 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey Street and Las Animas Avenue for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Petty theft
-Evelyn Vago, 18, on Feb. 6 at 7:15 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for petty theft.
-Racheal Jordan, 32, on Feb. 7 at 2:21 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for petty theft.
-Frank Romo, 53, on Feb. 8 at 11:42 a.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle for petty theft.
-Frank Figueroa, 20, on Feb. 8 at 8:41 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for petty theft.
-Kimberly Angeles, 20, on Feb. 12 at 1:50 p.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road for two charges of petty theft.
Possession of a controlled substance
-Anthony Vaca, 18, on Feb. 7 at 2:47 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and First streets for possession of marijuana.
-Robert Hultsman, 57, on Feb. 8 at 3:15 p.m. on the 6900 block of Chestnut Street for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, battery and vandalism with damages less than $400.
-Armando Avina, 40, on Feb. 9 at 2:33 a.m. on the 7700 block of Ghirlanda Court for felony possession of a controlled substance.
Resisting, delaying or obstructing
-Jeffrey Freeman, 42, on Feb. 7 at 10:09 p.m. near the intersection of Rosanna and Tenth streets for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and use/being under the influence of a controlled substance.
-Michael Mortimer, 21, on Feb. 10 at 9:03 p.m. on the 7200 block of Camino Arroyo for three outstanding warrants: two for resting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or a controlled substance, in addition to another charge of resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and representing a false ID to a police officer.
Under the influence
-Steven Pirnik, 23, on Feb. 7 at 2:53 a.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Mantelli Drive for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Manfred Geister, 56, on Feb. 7 at 11:34 a.m. near the intersection of Fifth and Dowdy streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Donna Blume, 53, on Feb. 9 at 10:18 pm. on the 700 block of Lawrence Drive for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Possession of paraphernalia
-Alfredo Flores, 36, on Feb. 7 at 1:59 p.m. on the 200 block of W. Seventh Street for unlawful possession of paraphernalia.
Vandalism
-Jenevie Martinez, 22, on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. at the GPD station, located at 7301 Hanna Street, on a felony warrant for vandalism with damages $50,000 or more.
Outstanding warrants
-Richard Martin, 55, on Feb. 9 at 1:49 p.m. near the intersection of Alexander and Ninth streets for five outstanding warrants: hit and run, driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, failure to comply with a court order and failure to pay.
Driving violations
-Desiree Reyes, 35, on Feb. 8 at 12:30 p.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road for three charges of driving with a suspended license and not having operational stop lights.
-Jerome Moore, 33, on Feb. 10 at 9:20 a.m. on the 500 block of Old Gilroy Street for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
