ANNIVERSARY: Flores’ celebrate 48 years: Robert and Connie Flores, of Hollister, celebrated 48 years of marriage on Nov. 20.
The couple has two children, Laura Castaneda of Gilroy and Erine Flores of Medford, Ore. and two grandchildren.
HONORS
Scott Mattes
Air Force Airman 1st Class Scott A. Mattes graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Mattes is the son of Wendy and John Mattes of Morgan Hill and a 2008 graduate of Mountain View High School.
Tiana Huntley
Tiana Marie Huntley, an eighth-grader at Tres Pinos School, recently participated in the 2014 Miss Junior Teen San Jose/Oakland pageant.
Huntley, 13, learned of her acceptance into this year’s competition when the pageant announced their selections following interviewing in the San Jose and Oakland areas.
The competition included modeling routines, which included casual wear and formal wear, in addition to personality and interviewing skills.
Hollister businesses and families sponsored Huntley, including Louis and Cheri Huntley, Jim and MaryAnn Friebel, Jim Friebel Trucking Inc., Jimmy Friebel IV and boys, Bobby and Jodi Cardenas, Marksmen Specialty Coatings, as well as Joey, Allacyn and Tyler Spears and Bill and Sherry Schmidt.
