Robert 'The Ghost' Guerrero raises his hands in victory following a unanimous decision over Yoshihiro Kamegai in the main event of SHOWTIME Championship Boxing June 21 at the StubHub Center in Carson. It was Guerrero's first fight since losing to Floyd Ma

This Thanksgiving, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero wants to give back to the community that has given him so much.
The six-time World Champion has partnered with the Salvation Army of Gilroy to help those in need this holiday season. Guerrero, along with other community volunteers, will distribute food to Garlic Capital’s less fortunate families on Nov. 26 at 200 5th Street in Gilroy. He has also made a $5,000 commitment to the organization and will help serve 300-plus people with a warm meal this Thanksgiving.
“It brings me great pleasure to be participating with the Salvation Army for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner,” Guerrero said in a press release. “The Gilroy community is dear to my heart and anytime I can help support those less fortunate is a blessing.”
Local volunteers will begin preparing meals at 8 a.m. and food will be served from noon to 3 p.m. Guerrero is scheduled to arrive at 11 a.m. to prepare and dish out a variety of holiday goodies, including turkeys, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, bread and homemade pumpkin pie.
“Helping others is what the holiday season is all about,” Guerrero said. “I’m looking forward to an uplifting day filled with joy and happiness as we will provide many meals for those in need.”
