The woes of the Christopher girls basketball team continue as it dropped its fifth straight game Tuesday.
It wasn’t the way the Cougars wanted to kick off leaugue play, falling 63-34 at North Salinas.
Cydney Caradonna led the team with 16 points, while Christa Arroyo posted 11.
Christopher(5-7 overall, 0-1 in league) will look to rebound against San Benito Tuesday when it plays its first home match since Dec. 10. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
Mustangs kickoff league play with win over ‘Catz
The Gilroy girls basketball team started play in the Monterey Bay Pacific League on the right foot. 
The Mustangs topped Watsonville 56-24 at home Tuesday, snapping a four-game losing streak. 
Maddy Cox led the Mustangs with 16 points, while Holly Lam posted eight. Sam Dela Torre scored seven points in the game. 
There will be little rest for Gilroy (4-6, 1-0) as the team will play at 7 p.m. Thursday at Monterey.
