Youth performers sought for ‘Addams Family’ musical

The San Benito Stage Company is in search of teens to perform in its upcoming musical comedy, “The Addams Family.”
“The Addams Family” features an original story with Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, growing up and falling in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before: keep a secret from his beloved Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.
The production team includes Producer Kristy Burchard, Director Sarah Smith, Vocal Director James Swan and Choreographer Lara Lichten.
Auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Granada Theatre, 336 Fifth St. Hollister, and are open to those aged 13 to 19 years old. Auditioners should prepare a short song with sheet music (no CDs) and wear comfortable shoes to dance in. Opening night for “The Addams Family” is set for Oct. 31.
