Are you ready for a family-friendly event to celebrate the Gilroy community? If so, PorchFest is for you.
The organizers of PorchFest, the first of its kind in Gilroy, invite area residents out from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 to enjoy live local bands playing from the porches of Hanna Street homes.
Inspired by cities around the country reviving a sense of good, old-fashioned fun, the residents of Hanna Street have agreed to open their porches to musicians and invite the community to parade the streets while listening to some of Gilroy’s fine musicians serenade the crowds for the afternoon in 45-minute sets.
Enjoy the tree lined three-block area of the historic street to the fullest by bringing a lawn chair, blanket, picnic cooler or bicycle and move from porch to porch.
This is a free family event, with no bands being paid.
For more information, for a list of homes or to see which bands will be performing, visit porchfestgilroy.org or call Eileen at (408) 847-4746.
