Gilroy-based Operation Freedom Paws is vying to pocket $25,000 through Turbana’s Win $25K For Your Cause program.
Tallies available as of press time showed Operation Freedom Paws in third place for the top prize. The nonprofit assists veterans and others with disabilities to transition into and actively participate in their communities.
Operation Freedom Paws was being edged out by Right Road Kids, 3,103 votes; and KEEN New York, 2,938 votes. Operation Freedom Paws had 2,509 votes as of press time.

As part of its “Growing Smiles, Sharing Goodness” movement, Turbana turned to the online community to find a next partnership, according to a spokeswoman.
Online voter-approved winners will receive $25,000 toward a community initiative created in collaboration with Turbana, according to its website.
