Max and Odie have lost their loving home, and desperately need a new home – preferably together.
“The Boys” were adopted together seven years ago. They are not true brothers, but are an incredibly bonded pair. They happily lived with their human “mom and dad” and were very much loved.
Until recently, when the “dad” began having recurring, acute respiratory issues, and doctors advised that “The Boys” had to go. The couple is just heartbroken, but since the cats were removed from their home about six weeks ago, his health is much improved. They are both still devastated over the loss of their boys, though.
Max and Odie are now in a foster home, but they were initially depressed and confused about what had happened to them. They now trust their foster mom and are eating and playing normally, but they deserve much more love and attention in a permanent, loving home.
Max, the big guy, is a handsome buff tabby with pale green eyes and is quite a character. He loves belly rubs, chin and head rubs, and being combed. He has a whole symphony of hilarious meows and chirps and is a real clown.
Odie, the smaller orange tabby, has the most beautiful green eyes. He looks like an American shorthair, and is a real lap-cat. He was a bottle-baby so he’s very trusting and affectionate, and loves to be picked up and held.
They are both healthy, microchipped, neutered, current on their vaccines, and use their litter box faithfully. They eat kibble and enjoy a small amount of canned food at night as a treat. They both adore chasing the laser light and their toys, playing with each other, and snoozing in the sunshine by the window. They come running and purr immediately when given love, attention, or grooming. They are both about eight years old, yet still as playful as kittens.
Their current foster mom often finds them snuggled up together in one small bed. They are such a bonded pair; it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. They have not been around children or dogs.
The odds of them being re-adopted (and together, yet) are probably not good, because they are adults and because they are competing with so many other adoptable kittens or teen-age kitties – and we’re already in yet another prolific kitten season, unfortunately. But, we just have to try anyway to find the perfect home for these two sweet boys.
Would they be the ideal additions to your family?
