Prep Roundup: Sept. 10

Olivia Tabron is making her case for a Monterey Bay League First Team honor—and it’s only Christopher’s seventh game of the year.
Tabron was dominate in the Cougars 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22 win over Mount Madonna School Tuesday, racking up 19 kills and 11 digs. 
The senior was complemented by Christa Arroyo’s 37 assists. Arroyo also had 18 digs for the home team. 
Ally Foster displayed a stronger presence at the net, picking up five blocks in addition to five kills and a dig. 
Christopher (4-3) will be back on the court at 6:30 p.m. tonight to host St. Francis Central Catholic High School. 
Soledad sweeps Gilroy in season opener
Gilroy kept things close with host Soledad in its season opener Tuesday, but was swept 3-0.
The Mustangs lost by a score of 23-25, 21-25, 19-25.

The Mustangs will play their home opener against Pioneer at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
GIRLS GOLF
Gilroy falls to North Monterey County in opener
The Gilroy girls golf team played its first match of the season Tuesday, but fell 372-341 to North Monterey County at the Nicklaus Club-Monterey. 
Lizette Alcantar led the way for the Mustangs, carding a 63 on the 2,358-yard, par 35 (nine holes) course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Nicole Dan recorded a 73 on the day and had great putts, coach Daniel Valdez said. Sarah Wax bogeyed on the ninth hole to finish with a 74. 
Gilroy will play San Benito at 3:30 p.m. today at San Juan Oaks.
