-What inspires you?
I find inspiration from everyone around me, from my parents to teachers and co-workers to friends and classmates. I feel everyone has good qualities that you can learn from and adopt. I think the trick is to balance everything with some humility and responsibility.
-What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
My favorite subject in school is science because it deals with the unknown and discovery. Whether it is a success or failure, you always learn something new from your inquiries, just like in life.
-A current issue you are concerned about, fascinated with or interested in:
A current issue that I find interesting deals with the ebola outbreak in Africa and the science behind it. Here is one of the most deadly viruses in the world with a possible vaccine on the horizon. The science is what I find intriguing.
-If you could go anywhere, where would you go?
If I could go anywhere, I would go to Italy to view some of the things that have always interested me from the Renaissance period: the art, the churches, the catacombs, as well as other Italian monuments that have stood the test of time.
-Name one big challenge in your life right now:
A big challenge in my life right now is college applications. Like any senior wanting to go into college, the applications are a very daunting task. I cannot wait until they are all submitted and the stress and worrying is over.
-What is your dream job?
My dream job would be to become an anesthesiologist because of the energy, dynamics, and emphasis in math and science. I volunteer at Regional Medical Center of San Jose’s ER and have seen the trauma doctors save many patients. The work they do is remarkable.
-What are your three favorite things?
Music, decadent food and movies.
-Favorite book:
“The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. It deals with the issues of hope, justice, mercy and forgiveness.
-Something that makes you smile:
Something that makes me smile would be helping people. It feels great to be able to make someone’s day.
-Top three most played songs on your iTunes or iPod:
“If I can Dream” by Elvis Presley
“Ten Feet Tall” by Afrojack ft. Wrabel
“Rather Be” by Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glyne
