Taste of Santa Clara Valley

The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) will host a farm to table fundraising dinner—“The Taste of Santa Clara Valley”—on Sept. 14 at Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill. The catered dinner will highlight produce from Santa Clara and San Benito County farmers, with proceeds benefiting CAFF’s program work. A portion of all ticket sales will allow farmers to attend the event, who will share personal stories about farming in the region.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the growers who provide produce at local farmers markets and grocery stores,” said Diane Del Signore, CAFF’s executive director.
The dinner will showcase the creations of chef Nicolai Tuban from Bon Appétit Management Company, who serves as executive chef at Altera. As a culinary artist who is “passionate about innovative combinations of international flavors,” Nicolai invented a style he playfully calls “contemporary global mouth jazz.”
The dinner will take place at Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill—a third generation, family-owned winery, which has produced a wide variety of award-winning varietals since 1925. Guests will be able to enjoy the venue’s wine, as well as live music, a raffle and a chance to bid on local farm tours.
The Taste of Santa Clara Valley is part of Local Food Month, which takes place in Santa Clara County for the first time this September.
