Dear Editor,
I just wanted to say thanks for the detailed and interesting article Lori Stuenkel wrote helping us to promote the Second Annual Neighborhood Academy II. I especially liked your anecdotal start.
These types of stories are very important to us as agencies because we want to inform and to invite community members to these types of free trainings. These trainings can help to serve those who may be interested in organizing their neighborhoods or even adopting other neighborhoods such as mailman Art Barron who adopted the Eigleberry Neighborhood.
Attending this Academy will give the participants the opportunity to meet and to hear first hand how others in the community are organizing positive activities in their neighborhoods. Thanks for all the great stories in the Dispatch and I appreciate the reporters ability to capture the message that we are trying to send out which is “community empowerment.”
