Marco F. Pacheco, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, spent four days in Seattle where he participated in the 53rd annual Seafair event.

Fireman Pacheco, the 26-year-old son of Ed Pacheco of Morgan Hill, is a machinist’s mate aboard “America’s flagship,” as the Constellation is known. He operates and maintains steam turbines.

The visit also gave the people of Seattle a new perspective on the Navy. The ship opened its doors and welcomed the community on board for tours.

“The community should see what we do on a daily basis,” said Pacheco, a 1995 graduate of Live Oak High School.
