HILLSBOROUGH – Anchorpoint Christian may have been outmanned, but it wasn’t about to be outworked Saturday in Hillsborough.

Beating Crystal Springs Uplands 62-6, the Warriors improved to 5-1 on the season while topping the 60-point mark for the third time this season.

“It was funny to watch warmups,” Anchorpoint 8-man football coach K.C. Adams said. “There were 12 kids on one side of the field and on the other there were 35 kids. It looked like it was going to be a serious butt-whooping for us, but we had 12 kids doing serious practice all week.”

Christian McCrimmon wasted no time in giving the Warriors a leg up, taking the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

“That pretty much set the tone for the day,” Adams said. “We were small but mighty.”

The Warriors’ coach also noted the strong play of linemen Josh Mastroieni, Josh Marozick and 6-foot-5 freshman John Adams, as well as receiver Brian Orr.

Anchorpoint’s next game will be Saturday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Marina.
