The four Gilroy firefighters and one Gilroy engine were sent down to help fight the fires that have burned about 20,000 acres in Southern California, destroyed more than 100 homes and buildings and took one life. They were expected home Thursday, said Battalion Chief Clay Bentson. Officials expect the fires to be contained by the weekend.
