He lived and worked in Watsonville from 1938 to 1976, when he retired and moved to Gilroy. He has been a Gilroy resident since 1977.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his children, Geraldine Hicks of San Jose, Ruby Brown of Fresno, David McDaniel of Pleasanton and Judi D’Amelio of Aptos; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Grace McDaniel.
At his request, no services will be held.
