Should all fireworks be banned in the City of Gilroy next
year?
THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:
Should all fireworks be banned in the City of Gilroy next year?
Yes: 7 No: 5
â– With the exception of the Council Chambers, no!
â– No – it’s not the ‘safe and sane’ fireworks that cause problems, and a ban would not stop the illegal ones.
â– No, but there should be way to ban them when the fire danger is too high, and the nonprofit organizations should start to find alternative fundraising programs.
â– No. If fireworks are outlawed, then only outlaws would have fireworks.
â– YES. Fireworks (both legal and illegal) are now being shot off days before and after July 4 creating unnecessary stress on pet dogs. If people would shoot the legal ones on the Fourth, OK, but it’s gotten out of hand.
â– Yes. They should have been banned this year.
â– No! There are nonprofit organizations in Gilroy who depend on this funding. The illegal fireworks and arson are causing the fires. The fire on Day Road was caused by lightning. How do you ban that?
