Facing Gilroy Little League’s Sunbirds in a first-round Girls Minors playoff game, the Bandits were able to advance with a 13-2 victory.
The Bandits’ offense was led by Ali Hathaway with two singles, followed by singles from Taylor Loesch, Cynthia DelReal and Starr Fries.
Pitcher Allison Ranson recorded four strikeouts for the Bandits, while closer Ali Hathaway finished with two.
The Sunbirds were led offensively with singles by Julia Chizanskos, Hailie Blagrove and Hannah Vasquez. Defensively, the Sunbirds received steady production from first baseman Ariana Olivares, who led the team with several unassisted outs, and pitcher Ashley Irby.
The Bandits will now face the No. 1-seeded Brakettes on Wednesday, May 28, while the Sunbirds will go to the consolation bracket to face either the Riptide or the Heat on Thursday, May 29.
