Humboldt Brewing improved to 2-0 in Men’s D League softball play Friday with a 4-2 nod over Campbell’s Towing at Christmas Hill Park.

Billy Hanna and Bruce Hanna each singled and scored in the fourth inning to lift Humboldt to a 3-2 lead. Dave Keim Jr. homered for the Brewers. Lance Hedrick went 2-for-3 and scored one Campbell’s Towing run.

California Overhead is 2-0 after a 15-11 victory over Los Pistoleros. Rick Trujillo homered and scored three runs for Overhead. Zeke Lopez and Lupe Lemus each went 2-for-4 and scored two Los Pistoleros runs.

The VFW Vets hit the 2-0 mark with a 23-10 verdict over the Loco Boys. Frankie Martinez plated four Vets runs with four extra-base hits. Jason Contreras, Mike Montenegro and Fernando Espinosa hit Vets home runs. Nathan Mandrell went 3-for-3 for the Loco Boys.

Jerry Ceballos went 3-for-3 with a home run to lift Gamers In Control past Team Hair FX 13-9. Nathan Avila went 4-for-4 and Ernesto Salinas and Frank Valadez each scored three runs for the winners. Gilbert Ramirez went 3-for-3 for Hair FX.

Northbound is 2-0 atop the Men’s BB League after an 11-9 edging of Dutchman’s Pizza Friday at Las Animas Park. Marshall Silva went 4-for-4 and Santos Gutierrez went 3-for-5 and scored four runs for Northbound. Shannon Fernandez and Ryan Dequin hit Dutchman’s homers. Art Del Valle went 5-for-5 to lead 1-1 NorCal Regulators past HD Auto Glass-Hard Ninety 22-11. E. J. Mendoza hit a triple and sacrifice fly for Glass.

Frank Vargas Taxes and Financing moved to 2-0 atop the Co-Rec B League with a 24-6 win over Team Strike Sunday at Las Animas. Anthony Corral (4-for-4) and Jim Sands (3-for-3) each homered for the league leaders. Troy Carson went 3-for-3 and scored three Strike runs.

Team Coconut topped Pacific Coast Fence 11-8 as Ryan Dequin homered and Joel Vaca went 3-for-3. Daniel Salinas and Rich Rodriquez each homered for 1-1 Pacific Coast.

Rich Wallace and Tony Smith provided home runs as ifly trimmed the Big Kahunas 11-5 in Co-Rec C action Sunday. Chris Bailey went 3-for-3 for 2-0 ifly. Rudi Groppe hit a double and two singles for the Kahunas.

Team Hair FX joined ifly at 2-0 with a 6-4 win over the Icy Hotz.

Gilbert Ramirez hit an RBI-triple and scored on a Tracy Nelson single as Team Hair FX snapped a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh. Rich Adams homered for the Icy Hotz.
