Crime in Gilroy

The Gilroy Police Department responded to reports of a robbery at 2 a.m. this morning near the intersection of Rogers Lane and Hoover Court in Gilroy.

According to a GPD press release sent early this morning, a driver from Golden Taxi Co. was called to pick up two passenger suspects described as a Hispanic male and female adult. The suspects entered the vehicle; then placed an unknown object against the back of the driver’s head. Police say the suspects demanded money and removed cash from the driver’s wallet before exiting the taxi and fleeing towards Rogers Lane with an undisclosed amount of cash. After this, the victim drove to the 7200 block of Monterey Street and called the police. 

Officers describe the first suspect as a Hispanic male adult, 21, wearing a red baseball cap, black flannel shirt and blue jeans. The second suspect is described as Hispanic female, 19, wearing a black flannel jacket and tight jeans.
