the GHS softball team to a 3-2 over Archbishop Mitty on Thursday in
San Jose.

Casey Lester, who was on base four times in the game, led off the top of the eighth with a walk. The junior advanced to second on a Stephanie Rodriguez sacrifice bunt and later scored on Morelos’ three-bagger.
Stephanie Gomez entered as a pinch runner for Morelos and scored on the RBI by Lira.
The Mustangs (3-1) shut down a Monarchs’ rally in the bottom half of the eighth. Mitty made it 3-2 with two out before the Mustangs were able to nip the late charge in the bud.
An RBI-double from Celeste Mendoza knotted the contest at 1-all in the sixth.
