Dropping its previous total team-low score by 21 strokes, the Christopher High boys golf team finished second at the third Mission Trail Athletic League tournament of the season Tuesday at San Juan Oaks.

The Cougars carded a 252 to place behind Monterey’s 210. Watsonville (257), King City (274) and North Monterey County (289) followed in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Peter Hilkene registered the fourth lowest round of the day with a 43 while Tyson Hill posted a 45. RJ Montez recorded a season-low of 53, improving on his score from last week by 11 strokes. Steven Lerma (54) and Jaeshwn Hoenck (57) each shot in the low 50s while Yafet Bitwoded finished with a 61 in his first varsity meet.
