Magdalena R. Martinez passed away in Hollister at the age of 77.
She was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and lived in Hollister for many years.
She married her husband, Perfecto, in Mexico in 1950, was a member of Sacred Heart Church, The Teamsters Union, worked for the cannery, loved time with her family, knitting, horses and all animals, music and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Perfecto Martinez of Hollister, her children and their spouses, Jose and Mary Martinez of Hollister, Tony and Rebecca Martinez of Hollister, Herman and Melodia Martinez of Hollister, Thomas and Margaret Martinez of Gilroy, Perfecto Jr. and JoAnn Martinez of Hollister and Armando and Gina Martinez of Hollister.
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Martinez who died in 1997. She is also survived by her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her Rosary will be on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at 7:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Her Mass will be on Friday, January 21, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
