GHS can’t knock Salinas from ranks of league unbeaten.
In a game that would have given the Gilroy High boys basketball team a share of the top spot after the first half of Tri-County Athletic League play, the Salinas Cowboys demonstrated why they have yet to suffer a league blemish.

The Cowboys, who have not lost since Dec. 18, chased the Mustangs 91-65 on Wednesday night in Salinas.

The loss pushes the Mustangs to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the TCAL, creating a three-team logjam for second place behind the Cowboys.

GHS is back in action on the road against Alvarez at 7 p.m. on Friday.
