Dear Editor,
The Gilroy Business Resource Coalition announced the grand opening of a small business development center in downtown Gilroy on Friday, May 20 which will include a hosted reception from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce headquarters, 7471 Monterey St.
Immediately following the reception, a free workshop on small business financing will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. The small business finance workshop will feature Carlos G. Mendoza, District Director of U.S. Small Business Administration, Fresno District Office.
Topics will include what the SBA is doing to increase lending to small businesses and how they are working to stabilize and invigorate our economy. The recent Jobs Bill has affected the existing SBA loan guarantee programs, and the workshop will explain what micro-lenders can offer the small business. Representatives from local lending institutions will be in attendance to provide additional resources to attendees.
