Enjoy a springtime hike from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in April – with the exception of Easter on April 24 – at Pacheco State Park off Highway 152.
Naturalist Jennifer Morgan will guide hikers to lovely wildflower displays overlooking the San Luis Reservoir, enhanced by discussions on the Native American and pioneer uses of plants and rich history of Pacheco Pass.
The hike is roughly two miles long and is classed as “moderate.” No advanced reservations are needed for groups of 10 or more, however groups larger than this are asked to call ahead.
Hikers should bring waterproof hiking footwear, layered clothing, a hat, sunscreen and water. Rain gear, binoculars, cameras and field guides are optional.

Pacheco State Park is located 22 miles west of Los Banos and 23 miles east of Gilroy off
of Highway 152. Turn south onto Dinosaur Point Road, then take the first right through the park gate.

The hikes come on the heels of Pacheco Pass’s eighth annual Wildflower Day on April 2, which included participants from the California Native Plant Society and the Central Valley Bird Club.
