Witnesses reported that the man was driving northbound at a high rate of speed on Ferguson Road and failed to negotiate 90-degree curve onto Leavesley Road.
The 2004 Chevy Suburban left the north edge of the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof, causing fatal injuries to the driver.
The 10:45 pm accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators aren’t sure yet whether the man was driving under the influence.
As of press time, the county coroner had not released the driver’s name, pending notification of next-of-kin.
There were no other passengers in the car.
