John Jimenez went 4-for-4 and scored three runs as the Big Kahunas reached 4-0 in the second half of the Gilroy Community Services Department program. Mark Logan fashioned a triple, two doubles and a single for the winners. Rudi Groppe of the Big Kahunas supplied the game’s lone home run.
Tim Adams went 4-for-4 and Noelle Arce 2-for-2 with a sacrifice fly for the 3-1 Icy Hots.
South County Rockery slipped into third place at 2-2 with a 10-7 win over Chili’s.
Marco Lopez launched a two-run home run and Steve and Barb Lemberger each netted three hits for the Rockery. Cody Wilson and Derek Orca stroked Chili’s home runs.
Jus 2 Party moved into a tie for first place at 3-1 with Dutchman’s Pizza with a 19-3 decision over DS Builders Friday at Las Animas. Gil Barry lined a three run home run and two doubles, finishing with eight RBI. Richie Rodriquez added a three-run home run. Ruben Chavez went 3-for-3 and Henry Maquinalez doubled and singled for DS Builders.
Czar Construction outlasted Interstate Fence-Dee’z Nutz 12-10 as Brian Jones hit two home runs and Rico Lopez and Fernando Rodriguez added one apiece. Orca homered and Sean Subia managed three hits for the losers.
Los Pistoleros trimmed Team Hair FX 15-14 Friday at Christmas Hill Park to remain tied for the top spot in the Men’s D League.
Team Hair FX (3-1) struck for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 14-14. Tony Martinez ignited the comeback with a three-run triple and Skip Bloom tied the score with a two-run home run. An infield single and a two-out outfield error in the bottom of the seventh gave Los Pistoleros the deciding run.
Zeke Lopez went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the winners. Lupe Lemus and Adrian Ponce each added three hits and one RBI. Marc Rodriguez topped Team Hair FX with three hits.
Pizza N’ Stuff reached 3-1 with a 5-3 decision over 2NQ. Darren Newton’s RBI-single helped Pizza N’ Stuff erase a 3-2 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Ben Roybal went 3-for-4 to lift Dr. Tile past the VFW Vets 11-9. Danny Melendez homered and Robert Armendariz went 3-for-3 for the VFW Vets.
