$21,000 worth of jewelry, including a $5,000 wedding band and a
$10,000 platinum chain with a tear-drop diamond, went missing
between 8am and 4pm June 20 from a home the two were cleaning on
Honeycomb Lane in Gilroy.
Two Arrested After $21K in Jewelry Disappears
Gilroy – Two housekeepers were arrested Sunday on burglary charges after $21,000 worth of jewelry, including a $5,000 wedding band and a $10,000 platinum chain with a tear-drop diamond, went missing between 8am and 4pm June 20 from a home the two were cleaning on Honeycomb Lane in Gilroy. Maria Sepulveda, 30, of Thomas Grade in Morgan Hill, and Nelly Perez, 30, of Eigleberry Street in Gilroy, both employees of X-Treme Cleaning, were hired by the victim to clean her home June 20, and given keys to her front gate and main door. The victim reported the burglary to Sheriff’s deputies Sunday – the same day Sepulveda returned her wedding band.
Thief Cons Waitress, Steals $98
Casa de Fruta – Know your math: A middle-aged man gave a waitress at Casa de Fruta a $50 bill for a $2 cup of coffee about noon June 20. She gave him $48 change. The man told her he wanted his $50 bill back, and gave her back the $48 in change, along with $2 for the cup of coffee, and asked for a $100 bill. Confused, the waitress obliged, handing him a $100 bill in exchange for his $2. The man made off with $98. He is described as an African-American man in his 50s, stands 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds, with an Afro and glasses.
Stabbing Under Investigation
Morgan Hill – A Morgan Hill man suffered deep cuts to his left arm after someone attacked him as he sat parked in a friend’s driveway 5:13pm Sunday, on Fisher Avenue. The attacker opened his car door and hit the man with a beer bottle, then stabbed his arm with the broken bottle. Sheriff’s investigators have yet to name a suspect, and no one had been arrested for the crime as of press time Wednesday.
