The Gilroy National team stayed alive in the District 39 Minors Tournament of Champions Thursday night by beating the San Juan /Aromas Mariners 6-2 at Harvey West Park in Santa Cruz.
Makio Duyao pitched five innings, allowing five hits and two walks for Gilroy. Justin Hale closed out the game in the sixth inning.
The Giants got a total of seven hits, including a two-run double by Daniel Patterson.
Gilroy will continue play Saturday at 10am. The Gilroy American team will play at 12:30pm.
