Connie Rogers, a historic tour guide for the Gilroy Museum, points to a plaque on the old City Hall building at the corner of Sixth and Monterey Streets Saturday morning during the Historic Monterey Street Walking Tour. The Gilroy landmark was saved from demolition in 1966 by the Gilroy Historical Society and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
